Tornado to Estonia

Tornado F3 ZE256 has made a cross-Europe journey to join the National Aviation Museum of Estonia. Sold by Jet Art Aviation in Selby, Yorkshire, it will go on display alongside other Cold War aircraft, such as the MiG-25, Su-24 and Viggen preserved at Lange, near Tartu in the east of the Baltic nation. The aircraft will be kept under cover ensuring its long-term preservation. Leaving Yorkshire on March 5 the aircraft arrived at her new home on March 14. A team from Jet Art Aviation was due to fly out to Estonia this month (April) to rebuild the aircraft. The F3 is a 'twin stick' example with full flying controls fitted in both the front and rear cockpit and is marked as ZE343/DZ of XI(F) Sqn, although it never actually served with that unit. The original serial number has been retained on the port side of the fin. Last flown in March 2003, it has been with Jet Art Aviation since 2012.
