Branded as the 'ultimate entertainment destination', the Xscape centres mix of extreme sports, retail and eating out has proved a hit since the first destination opened in Milton Keynes. Owner X-Leisure, which styles itself as the 'UK's fastest growing premier leisure brand', has a portfolio of 22 entertainment and leisure destinations around the UK, and has big plans for both Xscape and Snolzone - its operating company for indoor 'real snow' slopes. Another four sites are slated to open over the next five years. The third and latest Xscape iteration is at Braehead, close to Glasgow International Airport on the north west edge of the city, where the distinctive, wedge-shaped building towers above the huge retail park under construction around it. Its shape reflects the main attraction within — the 200 metre (660 ft) real snow, Arctic-cold ski slope, the big draw that attracts the blue-chip tenant partners who complete the leisure (24,107 sq m), retail (3,774 sq m) and food and drink (6,711 sq m) experience.
