In 2002, When the digital screen revolution started, there were only 3,000 screens deployed in the retail environment. The industry had a capital investment of £40m and generated advertising revenue of less than £10m. Five years on and there are more than 200,000 screens, the capital investment has increased to over £100m and advertising revenue is £28m - a 150 per cent growth. But despite those figures, which Screen FX joint sales director Richard Rowley revealed at last month's POPAI Digital 'Five Years On' event, Rowley told his audience that challenges still lie ahead.
