Daryl Clarke has a track record of growing successful, profitable companies in the AV sector. Starting off in 1991 (with former proAV chairman, Ray Phillpot) Clarke ran Matrix Display Systems before selling the £25 million, 100-strong business - which sold AV products and services into education, among other markets - to AVM in July 2008. He also founded AV Jobs, the first AV-specific recruitment agency, which was also sold in 2008. Then came education integrator, Digital Message in 2012. Co-founding Digitavia with Darren Pitt and Mike Windebank, the company began trading in 2014 (both a part of the Digital AV Group of companies). In 2016 Digitavia was placed 31 st in the Sunday Times Technology Track fastest growing 100 businesses.
