Many moons ago a self-styled 'futurologist' assured me that by 2020 magazine articles like this one would be written by computers. Well, 2020 has arrived and I'm still scribbling. So much for predictions. But if you ask the great and good of the AV industry about the likely impact that new technologies will be making in this first year of a new decade, Al and machine learning are still high on the list. "This could be the year Al moves into the mainstream," says Eliot Fulton-Langley, solutions architect at CDEC. "In 2019 it edged into a number of markets, from enhancing the personalised learning experience in education to improving video calls with information on callers or better tracking of speakers in the corporate world."
