This letter is my thanks to the so many people, who, over the past 35 years, have either influenced, helped, supported, or guided me to one of the most memorable events of my career. Being nominated and voted into the Automotive Fleet Hall of Fame is an honor I will truly cherish. Along with my wonderfully supportive family; my wife Emily and daughters Tara, Lisa, and Terese; I have so many people to thank that I know, if I tried during my short speech, I would have omitted so many names that it would not have been fair to begin naming anyone. In an attempt to keep this letter short, I looked back on my early days in fleet dating back to the 1970s, and thought of these wonderful people: fleet managers like Nancy Casaly of Heublein Wines; Charlie Ulrich of Eastman Kodak; George Zimmerman of GAF; Charlie Schnerr of Campbell Soup; Helen Smorgans of Johnson & Johnson; and Helen Bland of Hallmark Cards. In the 1980s and 1990s, Kathy Poppe of Revlon; Teddi Talamini of Ortho Pharmaceuticals; LaVerne Butler of Donnelley Directory; Suzen Moye, currently with sanofi-aventis; Ed Oleksy of Warner-Lambert; Elvie Pizzo of Hiram Walker; Elsie Lucia, formerly with Best Foods, now with Estee Lauder; Virginia Sweeney of Evonik; and Jeannie DeLory of Dunkin Brands; and, more recently, Donna Bibbo of Novo Nordisk and Frank Memolo of Panasonic. All of them have had a hand in shaping my career and helping me achieve the ongoing successes I am deeply proud of.
