Cool is hot

It has been called "too cool to categorise" and even government regulators have a difficult time deciding whether it is a car or a truck, but whichever definition is preferred, Chrysler's PT Cruiser is hot. The retro-looking Cruiser has been turning heads in the US where it has recently been launched wherever it goes and the biggest problem, says one senior DaimlerChrysler executive, will be rolling them out of the factory fast enough. Putting a premium on quality, the carmaker is ramping production up slowly and could fall as many as 50,000 units short of demand.
