Riding the industry's ups & downs

After his involvement with numerous motor firms, we left Henry George Burford in last month's issue pondering what to do at the outbreak of the First World War. He had established the Automobile Consolidated Alliance in Albemarle Street, London, and had obtained exclusive sales rights to the products of such US manufacturers as Chandler, Fremont Mais and Cletrac. These firms made respectively cars, trucks and farm tractors.
