Magneti lights up the 500

Magneti Marelli is supplying the daytime running lights on the Fiat 500. The car uses a 21W halogen light to illuminate a 25 sq cm area when the high beam, low beam and side lights are switched off. Daytime running lights are likely to become mandatory on new cars as part of EU efforts to reduce road accidents. Magneti Marelli supplies LEDs to BMW, but says mass segment customers still tend towards standard filament bulbs.
