There was the usual glamour and a rich crop of model introductions, but the environment was the underlying theme at Geneva. OEMs were displaying their environmental credentials with a prominence normally reserved for new cars. The EU's proposed CO_2 target of 130g/km is producing a consensus that achieving greater eco-friendliness on our roads calls for an integrated approach from vehicle manufacturers. Yet a tour of the show indicates that industry is pursuing a wide range of actions to clean up cars.
