Euro NCAP highlights key future safety features

Euro NCAP has revealed the safety innovations that it wants to see fitted to vehicles as standard. The Euro NCAP Advanced initiative was designed to highlight safety technologies, be they primary, secondary or tertiary systems, not included in the organisation's testing procedure but that have a proven safety benefit. Brake mitigation, lane assist systems and even emergency call features were all highlighted as playing a crucial role in keeping drivers and passengers safe. Euro NCAP said: "There was a need for guidance, to clarify which technologies are beneficial to vehicle occupants and pedestrians. And it's the first stage in including the systems in future Euro NCAP tests."
