Weight reduction is one of the key elements of our RSD activities, along with NVH and efficiency, A major point in our transmission . developments is torque increase in current architectures, which allows us to design smaller packages and therefore provide less weight. To increase torque and weight reduction, we're working with advanced materials, especially alloy steels, and with improved surface treatments such as shot peening. There is an intense discussion on the worldwide harmonised light vehicles test procedure and the NEDC, The optimisation process is strongly influenced by these cycles. If the cycle is changed, this will also influence our developments for reduced fuel consumption, especially when it comes to new criteria and software optimisation.
