The automotive industry has been going through considerable changes for some time now. The fixation on carbon emissions in Europe has forced OEMs and suppliers to develop technologies to meet ever more stringent targets. But at the same time firms have also had to meet differing legislative targets in other markets. The many challenges that engineers are facing was the backdrop for the EAEC's congress in Bucharest. Bringing together industry experts, academics and students, the biennial event sought to explain the many ways OEMs, suppliers and legislators are working together to make vehicles more efficient and emit less while also reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
