Harman's eye-scan software assesses driver drowsiness

Harman is helping to limit the number of accidents on the road with eye-scanning technology to monitor driver drowsiness. The pupil-based monitoring system is able to detect increases in dilation as an indication of the driver's mental state. Measuring the level of cognitive load, the system can assess whether the driver is tired, distracted or over-stimulated, and then instruct the vehicle's safety systems to adapt accordingly.
