Development of TOYOTA New V12 Gasoline Engine

A new V-type 12-cylinder engine named "1GZ-FE", has been developed for the most luxury passenger cars. Into this V-12 engine, lots of advanced technologies have been introduced, such as VVT-I (intelligent variable valve timing) system, slant squish combustion chamber, iridium electrode spark plug, intelligent electronic throttle control system, etc. As a result, the V-12 engine has (achieved) overwhelming smooth- ness and quietness, and the highest torque at low and medium speed of all engines with the same displacement. In addition, it has attained better fuel economy and higher reliability than any other competitors.
