Development of In-Vehicle Navigation System using GICS Information

摘要

The information service with VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) was started in April, 1996. The VICS traffic information is transmitted by radio-wave beacon, infrared beacon and FM multiplex broadcast. We have developed an in-vehicle navigation system which provides information of the traffic conditions and of the recommendable route by utilizing the VICS Information.
