Dynamic energy modelling in the New Zealand meat industry

Mathematical models which describe major energy use processes in the meat industry (including hot water and refrigeration systems) have been developed and tested. The time-variable refrigeration model based on a product rather than the traditional room by room approach is described. Work underway at present will further enhance several of the models and embed them in user-friendly software.
