Wine auction to raise awareness and funds for men's health research

Foundation 49, a men's health organisation based at Cabrini Health in Malvern, Victoria, is calling on wineries and retailers to donate a selection from their cellars for an auction of fine wines to be held later in the year. Foundation 49 was established in memory of the late wine writer Tony Hitchin who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 1988. Tony's career in journalismrnspanned 45 years. His widow, Jenny Hitchin, said Tony's appreciation of wine began during regular tours through South Australian vineyards. A two-year stint in Paris led to a life devoted to fine wine and dining, culminating in his editorship of Epicurean magazine.
