Rory Kent followed his family's passion for consuming fine wine when through his Melbourne-based marketing company, Tongue, he established v-know (www.v-know.com) to entice Australia's young adults away from Ready to Drink (RTD) beverages to allow them to begin exploring the Australian wine offer. "V-know is a wine club network for young wine drinkers that aims to impart wine knowledge in a unique and sophisticated setting. Each event highlights a certain wine theme and attendees can add to their wine knowledge while mingling with colleagues and friends. We're demystifying wine and making the whole thing approachable," Kent said. Kent has drawn on a range of hospitality industry contacts to collaborate in the v-know events. Melbourne's on premise venues are involved in the monthly gatherings by providing food matched to the carefully selected wine list. Over 12 wines are tasted during one event.
