Junior Leadership in the ADF

There are many levels of leadership. It could be argued that there is senior leadership and junior leadership-or strategic and operational leadership-and that they are intertwined respectively. Generally, people in a military environment will associate senior-level leadership with a higher level of rank, and junior-level leadership with lower ranks. But we must try to remember that this is a preconception. And to think that it is only senior levels of rank who have to make 'senior' leadership decisions and that corporals and captains make only junior-level leadership decisions is, in the writer's opinion, an outdated and restrictive way of thinking.
