Hohenstein Institute opened a new test laboratory in Hong Kong. It notes that Hong Kong continues to be an important hub for the textile market in Asia, and is therefore a key location for serving the China and Southeast Asia markets. By having the new local facility, it will greatly increase its proximity to its customers.As introduced, the new test laboratory will offer mainly chemical and physical textile testing, and is expected to be given the full accreditation under DIN EN ISO 17025 at the start of next year. Hohenstein Institute says that the new laboratory's other services include testing textile products' fitness for purposes, analyzing the composition of materials in accordance with the Textile Labeling Act, and assessing textiles' reactions to care treatments.
