Zhitang develops into China's famous town for nonwovens

Renowned for building nonwoven machinery and for making nonwoven fabrics, Zhitang town, in the city of Changshu in Jiangsu province, is reputed as "China's hometown for nonwovens". Now, after 30-plus years of development, Zhitang's nonwoven industry boasts more than RMB2 billion of gross asset value. Its production capacity and output of nonwoven equipment account for 65% of the country's total while its share in the country's nonwoven fabric market has exceeded 15%. Zhitang town is located in the city of Changshu in the eastern Chinese coastal province of Jiangsu. Being an opened up area in the Yangtze River Delta, it has an excellent geographic location. To the north Zhitang faces the Yangtze River; to the south and east, it is linked to Kunshan city and Taicang city respectively; and to the west it is close to the downtown of Changshu city. Zhitang is often referred to as "the town of nonwovens in China" or "China's nonwoven city".
