Some Notes on Middle to Late Pleistocene Topographic History Inferred from the Landforms of Boso Peninsula, Kanto Distric, Japan

A couple of themes relating to the Middle to Late Pleistocene topographic history of Boso Peninsula are discussed based on landform ob- servations. Remarkable Quaternary upheaval in the Peninsula has made marine terraces emerge above the present sea level during δ~18O stage 3. A flight of terraces recording past sea levels was found in the Taibusa-misaki area: six Pleistocene marine terraces, 80, 74, 62, 56, 44, and 24m asl., are recognized, though all except the highest one are very narrow.
