Mindanao: The Long Journey to Peace and Prosperity is far from the first publication to describe the Mindanao peace process in the southern Philippines as a 'long journey' or a 'long road'. Indeed, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief negotiator, Mohagher Iqbal, already considered the journey lengthy when he wrote The Long Road to Peace in 2007.~1 Ten years later, he remains centrally involved in what is still a work in progress.
