Bank sponsors and runs child ID program

Banks pay a great deal of attention to the dangers of identity theft, so it was not too surprising that the Sheriff's Office in Okaloosa County, Fla., approached Tony Hughes, president and CEO of Beach Bank of Fort Walton Beach, about sponsoring the SafeAssured ID program. Hughes recognized right away that this was a great program that would be helpful to the community. The SafeAssured program (www.safeassured-id.com/) uses sophisticated technology to create encrypted mini CDs containing information about a child that can be used by law enforcement agencies if the child goes missing. The CD contains a digital photo, a video of the child speaking and walking, fingerprints, and other personal information critical to law enforcement and the media in the first 48 hours that a child is missing.
