Korea Air Show Set to Grow with Aerospace Industry

Korea Air Show 2003, was successfully staged for the first time in the port city of Busan amidst apprehension by participants over the move from the capital city of Seoul which it had been held since its inception. The six-day event was launched on November 4 at the BEXCO exposition centre with a spectacular aerobatic display by the Black Eagles, ROKAF's aerobatic demonstration team. The air show, in its fourth edition since the first of the series was staged in 1996, is co-organised by Korea Aerospace Industries Association (KAIA), Korea Defence Industry Association (KDIA) and Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). With a total of 183 exhibitors from some 20 countries participating in the exposition, the Korea Air Show series has now developed into the biggest international air show in the Northeast Asian region. According to the organisers, Korea Air Show 2003 ended successfully with some US$600 million worth of deals and future contracts signed including three Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and one Letter of Intent (LOI). They said the event recorded some 125,000 local and foreign trade visitors.
