The constant regulatory tussle between the government and market giant Telstra, media giant News Corp. and the commercial TV networks is burning as bright as ever, with the country's leading telco and major media organizations at war with the government on regulatory issues. Telstra is locked in increasingly bitter talks with competition regulator the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) over the terms by which rival operators should be allowed access to the firm's planned fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) next-generation broadband network.
