Japanese mobile network operators (MNOs) SoftBank Corp and KDDI Corp have opted to delay the sale of new smartphones from Huawei Technologies in the wake of the United States' decision to effectively ban US companies from selling components to the Chinese gear manufacturer. Local press reports confirm that both MNOs have postponed the sales of new Huawei models for their 'au' and 'Y!mobile' wireless services which had been scheduled to begin later this month, until it becomes clearer whether firms such as Google will be able to continue to supply support and services such as its Android operating system. For its part, NTT DOCOMO will reportedly start selling Huawei's new high-end model in the summer.
