HTC to ship 60 million handsets in 2011

Taiwan-based mobile handset maker HTC announced that it plans to ship nearly 60 million handsets in 2011, adding that it would need all essential equipment on time so as to reach its target. Industry sources had projected the shipment of 20 million units in 2010. The smartphone player recently held a summit that drew over 200 executives from more than 100 handset component suppliers.
