China Mobile looks to sustain 3G growth; 2011 sales, profits up 8.8%, 5.2%

The world's largest cellular company by subscribers, China Mobile, is looking to add 30 million 3G users in 2012, and expects to see smartphone subsidies for the year increase by 17.6% year-on-year to CNY20 billion (USD$3.15 billion). China Mobile recorded revenues of CNY528 billion for the full-year 2011, with net profits of CNY125.9 billion, up 8.8% and 5.2% respectively year-on-year. By the end of December 2011 China Mobile had signed up 51.21 million 3G subscribers up from 20.7 million twelve months earlier.
