The threat of biological and chemical warfare in the Asia Pacific remains low with a firm commitment by the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) -comprising Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam -along with other regional countries and stakeholders: Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia, and the United States, who have all principally committed to the non-proliferation and use of these deadly weapons.
