To Strengthen Position in China, Nidec Group Expands Production Facilities

Nidec Corp. will establish a network of production centers in north, central, and south China to strengthen its position in mainland China's market and expand its export business. The company plans to fully develop the integrated strength of the eight companies under the Nidec group by building four new factories in the three districts in October. At the same time, it will intensify its marketing activities to get new customers. The company will build three factories in Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province to form a major group of Nidec factories in central China. By October, the Nidec group will begin operating eight factories in China. The three factories in Pinghu City are the Nidec (Zhejiang) Corp. (to manufacture fluid dynamic bearing motors for HDDs), Nidec Copal (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. (camera shutters, minimotor parts, and precision parts including general-use dies for export), and Nidec System Engineer- ing (Zhejiang) Corp. (system equipment). Nidec (Dongguan) Ltd. in Guangdong Province will manufacture DC motors, CD-ROM/R/RW drives, and DC motors for DVD players.
