Anritsu Rides on Growth Wave in Advanced Mobile Communications

Anritsu Corporation aims to achieve an operating margin of 18 percent in FY2014 through March 2015, the final year of the company's medium-term business plan, from its measuring instruments business. Anritsu sees the demand for measuring instruments related to Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) and Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE), which is mainly used in China, as an opportunity. In the company's mainstay measuring instruments business, Anritsu posted an operating profit of ¥13 billion on the sales of ¥76 billion in FY2013. Investments in the development of smartphones and establishment of base stations in the United States, as well as the development of mobile terminals and demand for measuring instruments for use in production sites in Asia, have driven the favorable sales. Overseas sales grew to account for 83 percent of the company's total sales.
