In a survey (consisting of a multiple response questions) among leading Japanese electronic components manufacturers, new markets, which are expected to be driving the demand for electronic components in 2025, have been identified. According to the survey results, most number of respondents have identified the next-generation vehicles-related market to lead the demand for components, followed by robots, next-generation communications market, medical and healthcare, Internet of Things (IoT)-related market, artificial intelligence (AI), energy-related market, autonomous driving-related market, and connected, autonomous, shared & services, electric (CASE). There are 27 companies that identified next-generation vehicles, autonomous driving-related market, and CASE in the automotive-related sector. Next-generation communications market, which ranked 7th in a similar survey conducted last year, came in 3rd this year, reflecting expectations for full-fledged implementation of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication.
