Therma-Stor Heat Recovery Water Heaters capture "waste" heat from the refrigeration system and utilizes that heat to generate free hot water. Capturing this heat also increases the compressor efficiency, resulting in increased cost savings. And, unlike conventional gas and electric water heaters, Therma-Stor Heat Recovery Water Heaters consume no fuel and produce no greenhouse gases. How It works Therma-Stor Heat Recovery Water Heaters recover "waste" energy from refrigeration systems to heat water. A refrigeration system uses refrigerant to transfer heat from the area to be cooled to a different location where heat is rejected. By routing the refrigerant through a heat exchanger, a Therma-Stor Heat Recovery Water Heater reclaims the wasted energy to heat the water.
