摘要

This Special Issue of AI EDAM presents cutting edge, state-of-the-art research in design computing and cognition from DCC'12, the Fifth International Conference on Design Computing & Cognition. Design is a fundamentally important topic in disciplines ranging from the more commonly associated fields of engineering, information technology, and architecture to emerging areas in the social sciences and life sciences. Design research seeks to develop an understanding of designing and to produce models that can be used to aid designing.
