After six months of operation the three Eurocopter Hap Tigers (photos: T. Goisque) are close to being repatriated and replaced by three other combat helicopters, since they each near their 400-hour flight mark (over half of which were logged down-range). The French helicopter unit, known as 'Task Force Mousquetaire', is based at the Kabul International Airport and includes eleven machines, namely three Gazelle Viviane-Hot (which provide long-range surgical capacity awaiting the Hell-fire-equipped Had Tigers that the French Alat is to receive in 2012), three EC725 Caracals, two AS532 Cougars and the three Tigers that were first deployed in July 2009.
