AAS-72X = Armed Lakota

With a view to demonstrating the UH-72A Lakota light utility helicopter's ability to carry out aerial scout missions for the US Army, American Euro-copter and Lockheed Martin are funding the development of three technical demonstration aircraft known as AAS-72X. Due to be operational as demonstrators by the end of 2010, they will be used for mission equipment and weapon system integration, performance testing and survivabilityrnvalidation tests.
