In the framework of the exhibition "Werkbundsiedlung Wien 1932 - A Model for New Living" the Wien Museum is organizing a conference about the relationships between housing models, examples and residents, conceived by Irene Nierhaus (Bremen University) and Andreas Nierhaus. With the advent of modernism housing became a much contested setting for social and socio-political action.
