Nest We Grow in Memu Meadows, Japan

Six graduates of Berkeley University in California won the fourth interna-tional inter-university architecture competition organised by the Japanese LIXILJS Foundation. After an almost three-month planning phase in Japan their project, Nest We Grow, was opened last November in Memu Meadows Experimental Park in Hokkaido. Around three hours by car from Sapporo, the Memu Meadows Experimental Park is in the town of Taiki in the rural western part of Hokkaido. Devoted to exchange, research and the implementation of sustainable architecture, every year under the direction of main juror Kengo Kuma competitions are held between invited universities.
