A return to Martin und Werner Feiersinger's successful research work on the tracks of North Italian modernism between 1946 and 1976. Compressed into an exhibition and a book When the border still existed, one of the main Saturday pastimes of innumerable Tyroleans was to travel across the Brenner to go shopping. And Italy was the Tyroleans' favourite holiday destination, also for the parents of architect Martin Feiersinger and his brother, sculptor Walter Feiersing-er. And, although the 55-year-old and 49-year-old have lived in Vienna for a long time now, Italy has remained the country of their dreams, a yearning that resulted in the book and exhibition project "italomodern", the second part of which is now available. Whether it will receive such lavish praise as "italomodern 1" only time will tell. When first presented in 2011 the book was sold out within just a few weeks, the international reception was astonishing and it was declared one of the finest books of that year.
