The sustainability imperative applies not only to the use of natural resources but also to our cultural legacy.The need to reduce the amount of land that we build on compels us to take a new look at existing buildings and their enormous unused potential.The goal must be an intelligent, considerate transformation that saves resources, unlocks old values by means of new technologies, and brings a lot of additional value, also in urban terms. This cultural change is now gaining momentum: old settlements can be made fit for the future and Europe has any amount of them.
