ザ・シヤードとして知られるロンドン・ブリッジ・タワーは、テムズ川南岸のロンドン・ブリッジ駅に隣接した72階建ての複合タワーである。電車、バス、地下鉄が乗り入れる駅は、1日20万人が利用するロンドンで最も交通量の多い駅の1つである。プロジェクトは、交通の要所における高密度開発を促進する市長の政策にたいする回答である。%London Bridge Tower, which is also known as the Shard, is a 72-storey mixed-use tower located besides London Bridge Station on the south bank of the river Thames. The station, which combines train, bus and underground lines, is one of the busiest in London, with 200,000 users per day. The project is a response to the mayor's policy of promoting high-density development at key transport nodes. The architects are Renzo Piano Building Workshop in collaboration with Adamson Associates.
