Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is situated in the vibrant enclave of Beach Road and Arab Street, bordering the city and the Central Business District. It is an addition to the existing Plaza development built in 1970s. The development comprised of a 30-story residential cum commercial tower, a retail podium and a multistory car park. Approximately 17,000 m~2 of existing retail usage has been converted to hotel usage for the refurbishment works. The new 15-story hotel tower is constructed above the existing multistory carpark at the junction of Beach Road, Ophir Road and Nicoll Highway. The juxtaposition of the new tower block provides a new visual counterpoint to the existing 30-story tower, a distinctive triangular-prism form of the original structure is composed of three facades of concave curves. The new hotel tower composed of a single rectangular volume is programmed with 180 guest suites with 1- and 2-bedroom configurations and a rooftop infinity-edge swimming pool and gym. The orientation of the guest suite layout capitalises on the breathtaking views of the Singapore Flyer, the city skyline and overlooks the historical Arab Street. The new tower's dark colors and subtle form are designed to complement the existing 30-story tower. Its facade is articulated with an animated composition of vertical fins and two-tone grey reflective glass, positioned at different planes to achieve a layering effect.
