At the inception of the firm, three individuals created a stable structure of complementary functions: design, technical management, and market strategy. This troika of founders worked with project leaders, who guided staff, thus forming a pyramidal structure. Relationships and tasks were largely linear, in that leadership and staff were directly linked by their shared day to day activities.
