Tengah Town Singapore 2014

The masterplan proposal for the new Tengah Town addresses the lessons from the history and evolution of New Town planning in Singapore. MVRDV were involved in the competition for the regeneration of the current urban fabric, which was separated and car dominated. The proposal was for a more integrated and adaptable urban state which could be altered by future generations as well as providing security, stability and opportunity for growth. The sustainable approach of developing Tengah Town goes beyond dealing with infrastructural upgrade and performance efficiency - it also addresses the social and ecological aspects of the site.
