Located 180 km northwest of Sydney in the Greater Blue Mountains area, this extraordinary site in the Wolgan Valley is defined by dramatic sandstone escarpments, fertile paddocks and expansive clear skies. The campus has been established to extend the Cranbrook SchooFs educational philosophy and interest in rituals of stewardship; encouraging students to explore and strengthen their skills and sense of self in a social and physical environment, well-removed from their normal frames of reference, and develop sensitivity, understanding, respect for and connection with the natural world. When completed, the campus will be experientially rich and accommodate alodge and kitchen, a chapel and hall, internal and external teaching spaces, and five separate buildings, each with 20 sleeping spaces and an observatory. The siting of the pavilions supports group learning from the classrooms to the kitchen, collaborative skills and social responsibility.
