Manz Bookshop

Loos handled the design of the facade, along with the interior design of the bookshop owner's office. With an aisle frontage of 6m and a shop facade width of 11m, the bookshop features a marble gate and mahogany shelf partitions. Loos combined the bold black marble of the gate with delicate details: the upper portion features a mahogany lattice on top of white glass, in addition to floating gold letters that form a piece of memorable signage. The gate to the bookshop is designed in a manner that recalls the classical practice of using it to indicate the shop's class or standing.
