This book is one of Earthscan's series of installation guides for sustainable systems in buildings. While there are many books on sustainable building in the broader sense (and indeed sustain-ability should be approached first at the whole-building or even the community level), the Installation Guides deal with a specific system in much greater depth. Solar Domestic Water Heating starts with an introduction which would suit a layperson or a user from outside the field; a few pages on the basics of the technology, photographs of parts of the equipment, and a brief rundown on resource depletion and climate change, and how to go about purchasing a system.
