The 'Dig in the Sky' House is a simple concept aggregated to create a series of complex and variable domestic spaces. The basic premise is the separation of inhabitable areas from circulation. This allows for many different ways of experiencing the house. 'To live is the activity of moving,' say the architects, 'so we try to make moving stimulating.' Set on a typically tight site in central Osaka, the house comprises three main volumes, each of which runs over two floors. These are linked by a series of floating 'tubes' containing corridors, ramps and staircases, articulating multiple routes around the house.
